This school was built in 1954 in Laksevåg, with a great view towards the city center of Bergen. After years of use and poor maintenance, it was decided in 2016 that the school buildings will be demolished, to be replaced by new a modern school. The demolition started in March 2019. I went to this school myself in the 1970’s, and nothing has changed since. Except for wear and tear, decay and a lot of moisture damage. These images were taken to document 63 years of the school that many thousands of youths have memories of. Photographically, it became an interaction between architecture, compositions and details from daily life at the school. The process will be followed up to the new school will be readdy.
The magazine Fotografi presented a portfolio from the school project in 2017. When it still was activity there.
